ESKOM LIVE | Stage 4 load shedding returns within hours of Eskom suspending power cuts | News24_Business

Eskom says load shedding will return at 16:00 on Saturday. Just three hours ago, the power utility said load shedding was suspended"until further notice". Stage 4 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on Sunday. On Sunday, load shedding will be suspended from 05:00 until 16:00. Eskom has suspended load shedding until further notice. The power utility said this was due to improved generation capacity and lower demand. It suspended the power cuts at 11:40.

Breakdowns are currently at 18 144MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 3 427MW. A generating unit each at Grootvlei, Hendrina and Kriel have been returned to service, but a unit each at Camden and two units at Arnot broke down over the last 24 hours. There has also been a delay in returning to serviece units at Arnot, Camden, Hendrina, Kendal, Matimba, Matla and Tutuka. Due to the breakdown of a unit each at Arnot, Majuba and Medupi power stations, Stage 4 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 to 16:00 on Tuesday - and not Stage 3 as Eskom previously said.
