Police responded to a report of a stabbing on Shore Road at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday and found a 31-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the upper abdomen. The victim’s injuries were considered to be serious, but not life-threatening, according to an RCMP press release, and he was transported to hospital by ambulance.
RCMP officers later located James Robert Morris Jr. on Mountain Road, safely arrested him and then transported to the Eskasoni Detachment where he was held in custody.Morris Jr., of Eskasoni, has been charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief, breach of probation and failure to comply with conditions of a release order.
Morris Jr. was remanded into custody and scheduled to will appear in Sydney provincial court on Monday.
