Valentine's Day Crack is an easy and extremely delicious option if you are looking to make something for yourself or to share with others
Valentine’s Day crack is easy to make and most definitely fit to eat. Paul Pickett photo - Paul Pickett photoWe are a week out, leaving lots of time to plan and bake some tasty treats.
Ironically, Valentine’s Day crack is highly addictive with its foundation of saltine crackers, a buttery toffee-like filling, topped with chocolate and garnished with Valentine’s Day-themed edible decorations. Let’s start by laying out and organizing all the ingredients. You will need one and a quarter cups of butter, one and a quarter cups of brown sugar, one stack of salted saltine crackers , a couple of packages of coloured candy melts and some Valentine’s Day themed sprinkles or candy of your choosing.
First, preheat your oven to 325 F. Next, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Then, place the saltine crackers evenly on the sheet.Once that is done, it is time to make the yummy toffee mixture by melting the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir it, while boiling, for about five minutes. When it is all mixed together and has thickened, pour the buttery sugar mixture directly over the crackers.
