“People that got polio, many of them died and many of them were crippled, and that is not the same frequency of risk that we see with COVID-19,” Gladu said, going on to say she wants to see reasonable accommodations given to people who decline COVID-19 vaccination.
“I’m just receiving the information from medical experts that talk about the relative risk, I’m not a doctor myself,” Gladu responded. “Our team will talk about how we need to focus on the economy, on inflation, and as I said, reducing hesitancy ,” O’Toole said. “Those conversations, as you know, will be confidential. That’s what a team does. But they’re important because some of these conversations, like Ms. Gladu’s comments yesterday, add to more uncertainty at a time that public officials should be reducing uncertainty.”
