The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County will host an educational conference this weekend to help families and individuals living with epilepsy learn more about the condition and access resources.
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent, unprovoked seizures, which are caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. These seizures can vary in intensity and may lead to temporary disruptions in consciousness, muscle control or sensory perception.“It’s the world’s fourth most common neurological disorder,” said Wendy Urushima-Conn, Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County president and CEO.
