Snowfall is expected to start this evening and continue overnight, bringing up to 10 cm of snow by Wednesday morning

Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory for the Sault Ste. Marie area due to snowfall that could bring an additional five to 10 cm by Wednesday morning. Visibility will be reduced during heavy snow.Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this evening and overnight.Reduced visibilities due to heavy snow.Snow at times heavy is expected to move into the region late this afternoon or early this evening. Visibility may be significantly reduced at times due to heavy snow.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
