Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory for the Sault Ste. Marie area due to snowfall that could bring an additional five to 10 cm by Wednesday morning. Visibility may be significantly reduced at times due to heavy snow.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
