The province’s energy minister believes there are opportunities for collaboration in the mining sector between Newfoundland and Labrador and the United Kingdom. While there, Parsons spoke with the British Minister for Trade, Nus Ghani.
He says the conversation mostly centered around critical minerals, and putting a focus on the resources and opportunities available here. Parsons says this province is different from Britain in that we have “barely scratched the surface” when it comes to mining exploration. He says they need to work on investments to see what else is there, noting how vast the province is. He says they need to look outside because it can’t all be driven by the provincial government.
