The star who plays Matty has talked about transitioning and tragedy in his personal life Emmerdale
Emmerldale star Ash Palmisciano is best known as his role as Matty Barton in the long running ITV soap, the youngest child of John Barton and Moira Dingle.
The 32-year-old star has built an army of fans through his on-screen character but what do we know about Ash Palmisciano's life away from the Dales? And Emmerdale isn’t Ash Palmisciano’s first TV appearance, and the actor has previously played roles including a part in BBC's Boy Meets Girl. Matty's Transition Ash was assigned female at birth, in 2012 he began his transition to male and has since undergone three surgeries.
Tragic loss of his 'role model' mum Devastatingly, Matty lost his mum who he dubbed as his "role model" earlier this year, the actor bravely took to Instagram to pay an emotional tribute to his "biggest inspiration" as his co-stars flocked to offer their support.
