THORBURN, N.S. — An emergency alert has been issued as RCMP search for a man in relation to an assault in Thorburn, N.S.
John Douglas Cress, 61, allegedly assaulted someone with an axe at a home on Greenwood Street in Thorburn, then fled into the woods, presumably on foot. RCMP said one person was injured. Cress is described as five-foot-10 with grey hair and blue eyes. Police say he may be wearing a long-sleeve grey sweatshirt and shorts.
