The federal government needed the Emergencies Act to clear “Freedom Convoy” blockades to protect Canada’s reputation, said Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair on Monday. He is the first cabinet minister to testify before the Public Order Emergency Commission. Marco Mendicino, Dominic LeBlanc, David Lametti, Omar Alghabra, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are also expected to appear before the commission this week.Get Access to iPolitics
