Musk is expected to meet with Chinese officials and visit Tesla’s Shanghai plant, according to a report.“China has always welcomed business people from various countries, including Mr. Musk, to visit China to better understand China and promote mutually beneficial cooperation,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Mao Ning reportedly said on Tuesday in Beijing.
Musk may also meet with Premier Li Qiang regarding automated-driving technology that Tesla desires to introduce in China.More than half of Tesla’s global production in 2022 came from the automaker’s Shanghai plant. The production facility is said to be able now to produce as many as 1.1 million cars per year.
