Days after gutting the company’s workforce, Elon Musk gave Twitter’s remaining employees a stark ultimatum.
Musk did little to lay out the specific performance criteria that employees must meet. But apparently, all who wish to keep their jobs must sign onto the billionaire’s “hardcore” performance agreement by 5 p.m. Thursday. Those who do not will be offered three months of severance pay and will be shown the door.
“Going forward, to build a breakthrough Twitter 2.0 and succeed in an increasingly competitive world, we will need to be extremely hardcore,” Musk wrote, adding that Twitter will be “much more engineering-driven” going forward. “This will mean working long hours at high intensity. Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade.
