Billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has made an audacious move to buy Twitter for $41.39 billion.
If Musk does purchase Twitter, the price would equate to about 15 per cent of his fortune.
The billionaire, who has previously been accused of using his own tweets to manipulate stock prices, has in recent days been critical of Twitter. He added:"I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy.
