Mercedes is preparing to take on the Tesla Model 3 with an all-new, all-electric third-generation CLA ⚡ It will be previewed as a concept in Munich later this year...
Key styling elements of the new CLA include a fresh grille set low in the front bumper along with angular headlights that are connected by a light band at the front. Another light band will also be placed across the bootlid.
In pure-electric form, the MMA supports an 800V architecture with charging at up to 350kW. This allows a 10-80% battery charge within 30 minutes on a high-powered DC system, says Mercedes-Benz. The electric motors are described as being second-generation permanent magnet synchronous units and carry the internal name eATS2.0. They will be coupled with a newly developed silicon carbide inverter and provide drive through a two-speed gearbox.
