The presidential election is nearing, and one of the biggest issues the candidates face is the uncertainty around the economy. With inflation still taking a toll on wallets and the unemployment rate starting to creep higher, the economic platforms for both incumbent and challenger are in sharp focus. He told a crowd of delegates he wants to end the “devastating inflation crisis immediately, bring down interest rates and lower the cost of energy.
I mean, they're they're so cringy and I thought, uh, so I watched the, you know, lead up to Trump last night.Hulk Hogan, uh, Lee Greenwood and a couple other supplicants, you know, like this to Trump. They should read Ben's stories or maybe have a glimpse at Ben's index cards. Um, candidates who are defended or want to have more support for Ukraine didn't bring it up in their speeches and those that don't did. There's nothing, there's nothing on Ukraine in the so called platform, right?
Um And if this is like a new uh uh Republican attack line and it turns out Trump didn't say anything at all about it.I mean, do you feel like there was no coordinating between, between the, go ahead?I mean, I do think JD genuinely believes that this has been a big part of his political identity. That being said, when you talk to folks who are looking at what's going to happen in 2025 there's very little sense that any of those policies are going to be in place.
So I just want to remind everybody So the timing here, we're, we're doing this on Friday morning, July 19th and, uh, it feels like this campaign could change.Thank you for, uh, sending them to me. But you, but all, I mean, reading between the tea leaves, the, all of the indications are that all of these people and many others are telling Biden he has to go.Um And in all fairness, you know, I launched the 70% ads a while back and uh as a registered investment advisor can't front run my clients. And that is something that I've learned, you know, from having worked in the house, having worked in the Senate for the last 20 years.
Uh The Republican side of the aisle is relatively new uh with Representative Smith leading as the chairman. So you're gonna need to identify if you want to pay for this tax bill, which they are not going to do.Those are words that are not even in the Republican platform, not even in there. You know, JD Vance has, has signed off on taxing corporate mergers that in the grand scheme of things that's like 50 cents, you need trillions of dollars to offset the cost of this bill. You know, it's a $10,000 cap on your deduction that generates one $0.2 trillion in revenue.
And then on the heels of a very unconventional R and C convention in light of the assassination as well. That's, that, that, that, that we have a lot, there's a ways to go to kind of figure out what the effect of this convention was and even some of the assassination. Some of the most interesting point I'm seeing is to kind of kick to go off Henrietta as that conversation is around Biden and his replacement.
And that showed Harris outperforming Biden, which, which, that, that, that sort of, that flipped happened about a week or two ago, but it also showed other candidates who, who might perform even better. On there one intriguing name who's, who's known to the, his role is Mark Kelly, the Arizona senator.I, I don't, I have no evidence that he has any interest in running, but he also performed really well in these swing states.
I mean, she dropped out uh kind of like in the first round of drop outs, not even in the second round.Um she, she ran kind of a disorganized campaign.Um So is she gonna be better this time if, if she ends up being the person, um maybe she will be a blow away candidate, who knows, but she could also make mistakes and fall flat.
