An elderly woman is dead and a man and a firefighter were taken to hospital after a fire at a townhouse in the southeast community of Lynnwood on Thursday.Posted: Nov 01, 2024 9:21 AM EDT | Last Updated: 1 hour ago
Firefighters said the man realized his mother was still in the home, but when he tried to go back inside to help her, he was unable to because of thick smoke. He cried out for help, at which point neighbours called 911. While battling the fire, the Calgary Fire Department said one firefighter suffered a laceration and needed to be taken to hospital by EMS.
