CANYON LAKE, Texas - A confrontation was the last thing that happened between a couple before police found an elderly man lying dead early Tuesday from a gunshot wound. According to the Comal County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened around 7 a.m. near the 400 block of Deer Valley Street.Emergency services attempted lifesaving measures but he was later pronounced dead and an autopsy was ordered. He was identified as Edward Canales, 62, of Canyon Lake, Texas and his next of kin has been notified.
After further investigation, it was revealed that a woman at the scene was the girlfriend of Canales. The woman shared that there was a physical altercation between the two of them.The Comal County Sheriff's Department and Texas Rangers continue to investigate.
