El Clásico in Arlington provided rare opportunity for Real Madrid, Barcelona fans in US
The event attracted fans not only from Texas and Dallas-Fort Worth but also from around the country. For many of those fans, this was their first time seeing their favorite team, and they were willing to travel across multiple states to make it happen.
The 82,026 fans inside AT&T Stadium set a record for the highest-attended club soccer game in AT&T Stadium history. Lovish Sanghvi, a Real Madrid fan living in Austin, said he’s excited about the new opportunities to see global soccer stars in the U.S. and Texas. Having moved to the U.S. from India three years ago, this was his first professional soccer game.“If this was anywhere in the U.S. we would have been there,” Sanghvi said. “I always wanted to watch this match and now that this is happening, and it’s an El Clásico, it’s amazing.
