The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are calling for a national shutdown in protest to the increased loadshedding and are also calling for president Cyril Ramaphosa to resign:NationalShutdown capetown
Former Member of the National Assembly, Fana Mokoena, has invited the entertainment industry to be part of the shutdown.
“The entire entertainment industry must join the national shutdown on March 20. It is not an EFF shutdown, it’s for all South Africans. Let’s heed the call and make our voices heard,” said Mokoena. Pan Africanist Congress of Azania also announced that they will be joining the red barrats during the protest.The call for Shutdown resonates with the PAC declaration that the “ANC is a Government of National Disaster” All PAC structures are encouraged to join the Shutdown,One of the country’s labour movements, the South African Federation Of Trade Unions confirmed that they share the same sentiments as EFF.
