A snowfall warning was in place for the Edmonton region Saturday morning, with 10 cm to 20 cm expected. Temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -1 C with 22 km/h winds gusting to 33 km/h out of the east. Wind chill measured at -7 C.
I know the “winter is coming” bit has been overdone, but with up to 20 cm of snow expected by this afternoon I think Edmontonians should consider pointing the finger at fans of Game of Thrones who are all hyped up about a battle that’s supposed to go down in some forsaken place called Winterfell on the episode set to air Sunday. Sure, April snow isn’t unheard of, but that won’t stop me from being grumpy and blaming HBO for this mess.
