The 36-year-old forward scored 13 goals and 20 points in 80 games with the Oilers in 2022–23.

The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed center Derek Ryan to a two-year contract worth $900,000 per season, the club announced Tuesday afternoon.

Ryan was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer upon the conclusion of the two-year, $1.25 million AAV deal he originally signed with the Oilers back in 2021. Ryan finally signed his first NHL contract with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2015, appearing in six games with the club at the end of the 2015–16 season. The 5’10” center emerged as a full-time NHLer with the team the following year.
