Johnston resigned from the foundation after his appointment, but the controversy obviously didn’t die down, leading to the foundation announcing Tuesday that “the circumstances created by the politicization of the foundation have made it impossible to continue with the status quo …” saying its current board of volunteers has resigned, with three directors staying on for an interim basis to deal with “obligations pending board renewal, including towards its scholars, mentors and fellows.”.
