Welcome back to the Kit Kat Club: Eddie Redmayne will reprise his role as the Emcee for the Broadway production of 'Cabaret,' opposite Gayle Rankin.
, who will play the toast of Mayfair, Sally Bowles. Olivier Award winner Rebecca Frecknall, the director of the West End version, will also return to helm the production at the August Wilson Theatre, which is set to open April 21 .,tells the love story of American author Cliff Bradshaw and nightclub performer Sally Bowles during the Nazi takeover of Germany. It features music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb.
Redmayne, who won an Olivier for his performance in the London production, will also serve as producer."It was whilst playing the Emcee in a student production ofover 25 years ago that my love for theater was properly ignited," Redmayne said in a statement. "It now feels completely thrilling and a little surreal to be a part of Rebecca's truly unique vision of Masteroff, Kander, and Ebb's brilliance as it arrives on Broadway, where the piece has such a history.
