Lander said the problem of creosote contamination in the West Village is one of the biggest problems standing in the way, and nobody has yet put forward an offer to clean up the site. Lander said the site has been contaminated for decades, and it doesn’t need to be cleaned up now just because the province has a surplus of cash.
