Sky News correspondent John Sparks reveals the first case of Ebola has been discovered in Goma, a transport hub on the border with Rwanda.
Goma, a major transport hub on the border with Rwanda, acts as “the door of this region to the rest of the world” and the risk of the virus reaching other parts of the region “remains very high”. A pastor who arrived in the city on Sunday, having travelled south by bus from Butembo, 300km away, tested positive for Ebola at a treatment centre. The country’s health ministry said all other 18 passengers and the driver had been traced and would be vaccinated on Monday.
