Neil McDermott swapped EastEnders for the West End
Having starred in BBC One’s EastEnders between April 2009 and August 2011, Nick McDermott is best known for playing Albert Square bad boy Ryan Malloy.
But since departing from the show, the 41 year old has swapped the small screen for the stage. Here’s what the actor is up to now.. On the stage, the former soap star - who’d attended the esteemed Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts - had performed in productions including The Sound of Music on the West End.
Family life Neil has been in a relationship with his wife Michelle Edwards after they met at Mountview when he was 19 and she was 18.Together the couple have two children, Arrabella who was born in January 2011, and a son. Co-writing the production, the show which could be seen at Charing Cross Theatre, helped convey the problem of mental health in young people.
