High temperatures come with a risk for heat exhaustion or other heat-related illnesses, but the risks are more serious for seniors, people who live alone, people with pre-existing health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or respiratory disease, people with mental illness such as schizophrenia, depression, or anxiety, people with substance use disorders, people with limited mobility.

To prevent heat-related illness, you are advised to drink plenty of water regularly, not wait to be thirsty.You should never leave susceptible people or pets alone in a parked vehicle.
