Contrary to retired general Antonio Parlade Jr.’s claims, President Rodrigo Duterte denies that he is being controlled by his closest ally, Senator Bong Go. Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana also says the allegations are baseless.
President Rodrigo Duterte defended the attendance of his closest ally, Senator Bong Go, in his weekly Cabinet meeting.mabuti na siya nandito
[Translation: I need Bong actually because Bong is the chairperson of the Senate committee on health and demography. It's good that he is here but he does not control anybody, he does not control me. He is here to do his duty.]which he said was the reason he filed his candidacy for president in next year’s polls.Senator Bong Go [I don't have a rift with Senator Bong Go]. I just don’t like the way he does things, including controlling the decisions of the President,” Parlade said.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, who was present during the Monday briefing, read a statement saying Parlade’s allegations were baseless.
