The Dutch Supreme Court has rejected online extortionist Aydin Coban's bid to scrap his Canadian sentence for tormenting B.C. teenager Amanda Todd, whose mother calls the ruling a 'moment of justice.'

But the court disagreed, saying that those rules in the Dutch criminal code did not apply to the conversion of a sentence imposed in Canada.“This decision signifies a moment of justice for the actions committed by against my daughter, Amanda.”of the extortion and harassment of Port Coquitlam teenager Todd, who died by suicide at the age of 15.
Todd said a B.C. prosecutor confirmed through the Dutch courts that Coban had begun serving his Canadian sentence on Sept. 10, last year. “The ruling reaffirms faith in the legal system and provides a sense of hope and healing for the future,” she said.
