An annual celebration of Black History Month in Durham Region is marking its 16th year.
This year’s event, which is presented by Cultural Expressions Art Gallery Inc., will be partially in-person and partially online.“This year’s theme –– invites our community to look at the Black History and Black History-Makers right here at home,” noted organizers. “The people to inspire us, the resources we need to grow, and the networks that can lift us are all in our backyard.”
Saturday’s programming will be held at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate in Ajax, starting at 5 p.m. You will need toThe event is sponsored by Ajax Public Library and Rotary Ajax. Other partners include Elexicon Energy, the Durham Children’s Aid Foundation, the Durham District School Board , the Durham Catholic District School Board , the Congress of Black Women and the Durham Black Coalition.
