Prolific author Steven Laffoley serves up irreverent N.S. food history in latest book
Author Steven Laffoley's 13th book, Dulse to Donairs, is an "irreverent history" of food in Nova Scotia.As a business model, writing books is a loser. But as a creative outlet, it’s hard to beat.“To write a book is to create an immersive piece of work. That’s why I do it, and I get a kick out of it. There’s no money in it, by any means.
After dealing with topics like murder, cholera and the Halifax fire that killed 30 poor people, Laffoley has recently turned to humorous fare, “irreverent” histories of beer and food in Nova Scotia.
