Dukes on to the next round, G Hawks play again
One of our Quinte region Provincial Jr. A teams has won its semifinal playoff series while the other must play at least one more game.
Last night in Minden the Wellington Dukes hung on to defeat the Haliburton County Huskies 3 to 2, completing a 4 game sweep of the best of 7. Dukes goalie Jacob Osborne was outstanding, facing 48 shots. Haliburton’s goaltender was much less busy facing only 20 shots.The Dukes now wait for the winner of the Trenton-Toronto series.
Speaking of which the Jr. Canadiens have now won two games straight against the Golden Hawks, beating them 4 to 3 last night in overtime.Jack Natyshak got 2 goals for Trenton, including one with less than a minute to go in the third period to force overtime. Also scoring for the G Hawks was Ryan Holmes.
