Drumheller RCMP were called to a rural property north of the community of Carbon on Aug. 23 where a man had cut the locks on a gate. The suspect was tracked by police throughout the morning. Around 12 p.m. on Aug. 24 police entered a residence and took the man into custody. Tyree Ewing, 23, has since been charged with break and enter, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of failing to comply with probation, four counts of failing to comply with a release order, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, flight from police, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, four counts of theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of assaulting a police officer with a weapon.
Ewing has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Drumheller provincial court on Aug. 26.
