Two individuals from Nova Scotia are facing drug-trafficking related charges.
THUNDER BAY – Two individuals from Nova Scotia are facing drug-trafficking related charges after a search warrant was carried out at a residence in the River Terrace neighbourhood according to a news release issued by the OPP Thursday.
On Oct. 10, the search warrant was executed at a residence on South Creek Square by the OPP-led provincial joint forces guns and gangs enforcement team as well as the OPP’s canine unit, the Thunder Bay Police Service, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service and members of the RCMP. OPP said in a news release that $70,000 in Canadian currency was seized along with five grams of suspected cocaine, three oxycodone tablets, three cell phones, a digital scale, packaging material, a gold chain and bracelet and a luxury watch.
A 37 year-old individual from Halifax, NS, and an 18-year-old individual from Dartmouth, NS, have both been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when the case is unlikely to be followed to its conclusion through the courts.
