The Alberta Motor Association announced Thursday it plans to house one million bees in rooftop colonies in Edmonton and Calgary.

Approximately 100,000 bees now call the rooftop home as part of the AMA’s new pollinator program. The program hopes to raise awareness about the critical role pollinators play in the ecosystem.
