West Shore RCMP said a witness reported about 2 a.m. that the grey Toyota Corolla had hit the trees in the 2000-block of Sooke Road. Police said the driver, who was the car’s sole occupant, showed signs of alcohol intoxication and a breath sample registered above the legal blood-alcohol limit. The 27-year-old woman was transported to hospital as a precaution.

“We want to thank the witness for calling police right away,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar. “It is remarkable that no one was seriously injured in this collision.”
