Driver seriously injured in two-vehicle crash on state Route 67 near Lakeside [Breaking]
A 30-year-old San Diego man suffered serious injuries Wednesday when his pickup struck the car of a driver who lost control on state Route 67 near Lakeside, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash occurred south of Foster Truck Trail about 5:40 p.m. when the driver of a northbound 2019 Honda Civic veered into the southbound lane, into the path of a 1996 Toyota Tacoma, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said. The Honda driver, a 25-year-old Ramona woman, had been traveling at a speed that was unsafe — about 65 to 70 mph — during “wet roadway conditions,” Grieshaber said.The Toyota driver suffered serious injuries, and paramedics took him to a hospital in an ambulance.The highway was closed for about an hour while emergency crews rendered medical aid to the drivers.
