A driver killed 10 people and injured more than 30 as he rammed a pickup truck into a crowd in New Orleans ' French Quarter early on New Year's Day. The FBI is investigating the attack as an act of terrorism and believes the driver did not act alone. An Islamic State group flag was found on the vehicle's trailer hitch, and investigators found guns and pipe bombs concealed within coolers.
Both devices were wired for remote detonation, and a corresponding remote control was found inside the suspect's truck. The driver, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen from Texas, was killed by police after exiting his vehicle and opening fire on officers. Two officers were shot and are in stable condition. The attack prompted the postponement of a college football playoff quarterfinal at the nearby Superdome until Thursday
