Driver killed when pickup struck by trolley in Barrio Logan [Breaking]
A driver was killed when a trolley slammed into his pickup truck at a Barrio Logan crossing Friday night, San Diego police said.
The crossing arm was down and motorist tried to drive his pickup around it at the Sampson Street crossing near Harbor Drive about 9:30 p.m., Sgt. Clinton Leisz said. He drove the 1969 GMC pickup directly into the path of the trolley as it approached from the south, the sergeant said.The trolley slammed into the pickup, and which then collided with a utility pole near the trolley tracks, Leisz said.
