The sheriff's office said just before 11:35 p.m., a 2017 Toyota Rav4 left the roadway and traveled into the gore between I-270 and the exit ramp from I-670 East to I-270 South. The Toyota continued through the gore and struck the bridge pillars before coming to a rest against the last pillar. Deputies and medics responded to the scene and found the driver unresponsive, who was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m.The ramp was closed for several hours while crews were working on the investigation. As of 5 a.m., all but one lane on the ramp has reopened. says one driver died after driving into that middle median area where the road forks.
