A Woodland Park man has been arrested and charged in the fatal hit-and-run.
Abdullah Parker, 57, of Woodland Park, was arrested and charged Friday in the death of Lillian Zamlout, 31, also of Woodland Park who was struck in the area of McBride Avenue and Hughes Place.
Parker was charged with first and second-degree death by auto, third degree endangering an injured victim and second degree leaving the scene of an accident. He remains in custody awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing. At about 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 15 police responded to the area for a hit and run. Police were told that a black Honda Odyssey had struck someone walking on the sidewalk and then drove off. Zamlout was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead, officials said.
If convicted, Parker faces 10-20 years in prison for the first degree death-by-auto charge and another 5-10 years for second degree charge. He could also face another 5-10 year prison sentence for second-degree leaving the scene of accident and another 3-5 years for endangering an injured victim.
