Dowling, who opened and closed the evening with victories, now sits with a six-race lead for top driver in Charlottetown with 45 wins ahead of second-place Gilles Barrieau, who has 39 wins. Race 1 featured a maiden score from Starship Glyde for trainer Earl Watts. Dowling failed to score wins in the next four dashes before sweeping six of the last seven races of the night.
The Dowling-trained-and-driven Slide Guitar equalled his lifetime mark, winning in 1:56.2, in Race 6. Bludhaven was another winner from the Dowling barn in Race 9 in 1:57.1. The Springvale driver found his other four victories from the Jennifer Doyle stable of Earnscliffe as the duo scored in Race 7 with My Land , Race 8 with Winter Blast , Race 12 with Premier Joy A and in the Race 11 $3,000 featured pace with Mantario .
