“The vehicle briefly left the roadway, rotating to face backwards and coming to a stop beside the road. The vehicle drove back onto the roadway, and the driver pulled into a neighbouring street and stopped,” said police. The driver waited for first responders, who arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. At the time of the collision, police said charges were pending because toxicology reports can take several months to be processed.
Police said on Monday they have charged Austin James O’Bray, of Calgary, with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams causing death.
