Out of all Goku's attacks, one stands out as being the most dependable when it comes to killing his enemies, and that attack was upgraded in GT.

While Goku has a number of increasingly deadly Dragon Ball attacks in his arsenal, there is one in particular that stands out, as it has a perfect track record in battle, since every time Goku uses it, he earns himself another victory–including one version of this technique that appeared in Dragon Ball GT that was an upgraded variation of the original attack.

Even in the early days of classic Dragon Ball, before intergalactic dictators, killer bio-androids, and cosmic gods, Goku was a force to be reckoned with as he defeated basically every challenger he met in battle. As just an untrained child, Goku eliminated small-time crime bosses, entire fascist regimes, and even killer androids. Once he was trained by Master Roshi–who was easily the greatest martial artist on Earth at that time–Goku’s power increased exponentially.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Dragon Ball GT Upgraded Goku’s Penetrate to the Dragon Fist In Dragon Ball GT episode 47 , Goku is battling Super 17, and it has become clear that Goku isn't a match for him. While Goku did weaken the android with a self-detonating blast, Super 17 bounced back fairly quickly while Goku reverted to his original form from Super Saiyan 4, as he didn’t have enough power to sustain the transformation.

Visually, these brutal victories look exactly the same, with the only difference being the power within Goku that pushes him to kill his respective enemy. With the Penetrate attack, Goku is fueled by his Saiyan heritage, which is made clear by the image of a Great Ape seemingly powering his punch. With Dragon Fist, the same is true but with a Golden Dragon instead of a Great Ape, though the outcomes are identical.

The only other time the Dragon Fist was used was in the film Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon, but since that movie wasn’t strictly included on the official Dragon Ball timeline the way Dragon Ball GT was, its canonicity can be called into question. Regardless, the fact remains that Goku killed Super 17 the same way he killed King Piccolo, but due to the power disparity between the two villains, Dragon Ball GT had to make Goku’s deadliest Dragon Ball technique even stronger.
