Family Partnership Expands Local Healthcare Options with New Naturopathic Doctor
This year, local chiropractor Dr. Todd MacLean has welcomed Dr. Kelsey Hroch, ND, owner of Northern Wellness Collective and a naturopathic doctor, to his office at 391 Pim Street.
Dr. Hroch was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, just as her uncle was. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2022 and joined his practice in May 2023. Inspired by her uncle’s dedication to his patients, Dr. Hroch has pursued a path in healthcare with a focus on comprehensive and preventative care.
Naturopathic doctors like Dr. Hroch are able to run certain diagnostic lab tests, such as bloodwork. When patients require imaging or additional services beyond her scope of practice, she collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. This integrative approach helps fill healthcare gaps, particularly in northern communities where access to medical services can be limited.
Perhaps not a widely known fact is that many naturopathic, chiropractic and massage services are covered by workplace healthcare benefits. Naturopathic doctors are also able to treat a wide variety of conditions. It’s a broad scope of practice with a focus on individualized care.
