Dan Stevens discussed his new movie Gaslit, about the Watergate Scandal, and likened Boris Johnson to President Nixon, saying he 'really needs to resign'
The Downton Abbey star appeared on the BBC chat show to discuss his new drama, Gaslit, which also stars Julia Roberts and Sean Penn.Dan plays one of the lawyers involved in the case and as he explained the plot of the show he took the opportunity to make a dig at the UK prime minister.
There were a few gasps heard in the studio too, while BBC viewers absolutely loved the quip about the prime minster, who has been found to have broken the law by breaching his own lockdown rules. Viewers flooded Twitter with comments about how “awesome” the Beauty and the Beast actor was for calling out the prime ministers behaviour.
