St Michael's PSNI team were due to take place in a football tournament at Clann na Banna this weekend

A Co Down GAA club at the centre of a dispute surrounding the participation of the St Michael’s PSNI team at one of its tournaments have issued a statement clarifying its position.

The Banbridge-based club stated it was purely to avoid confusion as another GAA club Down are called St Michael’s from Magheralin. Clann na Banna also stressed that, despite some claims, no other teams raised objections or concerns about the St Michael’s PSNI team taking part.
