They plugged Alabama Comic Con, with the actor calling it “great fun” and complimenting the city. “I’ve loved Birmingham. It’s my first time in Birmingham. I’ve been in your lovely state before, but never Birmingham. That Southern charm is a real thing.” The actor said he didn’t drink alcohol and asked if he’d lost his “Doug Jones privileges,” pointing out he’s a Northerner who grew up in Indiana.
“Doug, it has been a delight,” the former senator said after receiving the gift, to which the actor responded, “An absolute delight to finally meet the man who is destroying my social media.”
