Ontario Premier Doug Ford has given his ministers new mandate letters, laying out his expectations for them and what they will achieve in their portfolios.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford handed out fresh mandate letters to the executive council as his new election-focused team of ministers met for their first in-person cabinet meeting at Queen’s Park on Thursday.
Mandate letters often include direct and indirect instructions from the premier to his or her cabinet ministers and aim to marry political campaign promises with the party’s ideological stance on issues.With election campaign on horizon, N.B. Tories promise 2-point HST cut if re-elected “In Fall 2022, complete work to codify processes for swaps, expansions, contractions and policy updates for the Greenbelt. In addition, conduct a comprehensive review of the mandate of the Greenbelt Council and Greenbelt Foundation,” a portion of the mandate letter read. “This should include a comprehensive plan to expand and protect the Greenbelt.”, offered a vision statement along with a list of specific instructions on policy implementation along with abstract ideas to pursue.
Those letters will officially remain a closely guarded secret, as will their successors under the Progressive Conservatives.
