Twice-vaccinated Canadians who’ve had COVID-19 should wait three months after they first developed symptoms or tested positive before getting a booster shot, Canada’s vaccine advisory body said Friday.

“Due to widespread circulation of the Omicron variant, many Canadians seeking COVID-19 vaccination will have a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection,” the NACI document reads. After NACI released its updated guidance on Friday morning, Tam and Deputy Public Health Officer Howard Njoo said a more “sustainable” approach is needed to fight COVID.
